Shopping at midnight

Last night I decided the time had come when I had to try to get an on-line shopping delivery by staying up until after midnight. John had tried Sainsburys the night before but had no joy so for my turn I tried Tesco.

I created an account earlier in the evening. After John went to bed I took the precaution of setting an alarm on my phone for 23:55, just in case I felt asleep in front of the the TV. By midnight I was logged on again to the Tesco on-line shopping site. At one minute past I had a message saying I was in a queue, within 10 minutes or so the screen changed to ‘shop now’. I checked the coming week and the week after that but there were no available slots. I went on to the third week and found there were two slots on the last day, that is three weeks time. Of course I quickly booked the first of those and set about ordering my goods to secure the delivery. It is good to know that we will be able to get a substantial delivery of food in three weeks time. With a firm date I can now calculate which of our supplies will last until then.

Needless to say I was very late to bed and awake at a usual 7am. Being tired gave me a good excuse to avoid anything involving difficult thinking today and to continue working on the garden. I sowed 8 different varieties of courgette, and 3 of climbing beans. I am still hoping to reach a point where I feel I am on top the the gardening work. However, the more time I spend in the garden the more bright ideas I have to improve it so the ‘work’ is never ending, but I am loving it.

Hiya Judith,
good to know that you’ve found a way to get on to the on line system even if you’ve had to suffer a sleepy day today. I can imaging your garden turning into a “Judith and the bean stalk” story except with courgettes climbing all over the garden. They may even start climbing up the house!! I’m still exploring the depths of my freezer and trying to make sure that if its not worth eating now its going in the compost. Just in front of the compost my creeper is starting to flower. Expect another photo soon.
I’ve just completed a brilliant 4 day Zooming extravaganza with Bahai friends all over Wales. Its done me a power of good and I now feel ready, willing and able to support others who I know are suffering. You have talked about your deep distress at the suffering going on around the world. To feel helpless in the face of this, as many health and care workers are talking about now, is tragic. To have some solice to offer people is a relief. I’m relieved that right at this moment I feel I have and trusting that when I feel low again, others will “lift me up”. Humanity at its best eh. much love and many blessing.xx
